14:30 Lingfield - POUR LA VICTOIRE 9/2
1.5 Points Each-Way
Pour La Victoire caught the eye at the beginning of the year in a Lingfield claimer over six furlongs, when he missed the break and wasn't travelling early but rattled home late on to finish second. He ran another race which suggested he was hitting form when only beaten half a length on his next start after missing the break again. Tony Carroll's charge then looked up against it when stepped up from class 5 to class 3 company on his most recent start, but he ran a huge race, much better than his finishing position of fifth suggests. He once again committed his nasty habit of dwelling in the stalls, but soon recovered and, despite meeting all sorts of traffic problems in the home straight, ran on to finish fifth beaten two lengths. Racing off a 1lb lower mark, dropping back down from class 3 to class 5 and stepping up to a mile, the versatile Pour La Victoire must have a big shout in this.
