I felt we've been unlucky with some bets in the last couple of months but there was no excuses for Monday's runner, hopeful that we can get back on the winning trail tomorrow. I have to submit a research proposal tomorrow afternoon so I am busy putting the finishing touches to that, but I hope to have the time tomorrow to add the reasons why I fancy these bets.

*UPDATE*

I was able to submit my research proposal early and got another chance to look at the cards. So there are now four selections for today all with reasoning below.

16:30 Lingfield - MISS MINUTY 4/1

1.5 Points Win

Miss Minuty has a fantastic record over this course and distance and looks to have a good chance of enhancing that today. I was particularly impressed when she managed to win her penultimate start over what looked an inadequate mile. She then attempted to follow up returned to her preferred trip of 1m2f, off a 3lb higher mark. She failed to follow up but it is feasible to think it was the ride which got her beat on that occasion as opposed to the rise in the weights. Jason Watson, who has been in fantastic form in recent weeks, was probably guilty of giving Jeremy Scott's mare far too much to do on that occasion and she looks capable of turning that form around with Tom's Rock and Dutch Uncle.

18:10 Kempton - BOOKMAKER 9/1

1 Point Each-Way (Back at a firm paying 1/4 4 places)

Bookmaker was running off a career low mark of 49 when he did well to finish beaten only two lengths and he gets another chance off that same mark today. John Bridger's gelding was stuck out in stall 13 of 13 last time, he was dropped in behind and made eye-catching late headway but ultimately was staying on when it was all too late. The step up to a mile here should pose no problem and if he is left with an easier task turning for home he looks to have a good chance of landing this low grade affair.

19:40 Kempton - FAST TRACK 13/2

1 Point Win

Although he has been campaigned mainly over shorter, Fast Track ran well over this seven furlong trip at Wolverhampton and suggested his turn may be near. He is another who was racing off a career low mark last time out and, despite meeting problems a furlong out, ran on to finish fourth. It was surprising to see the handicapper drop him a pound for that performance and, given the form has been franked by the third placed horse since, if he is in the same mood today he could capitalise on a lenient mark.

21:10 Kempton - HOLD HANDS 9/1

0.75 Points Each-way (Bet365 Paying 1/4 4 places)

This is one which I put up last time out so I won't go into a huge amount of detail but she ran a big race when finishing second behind General Brook back in January, when doing best of those who were held up. She then had no chance last time out when denied a clear run when she was probably left with too much to do anyway, this looks a fairly weak contest but I still advise backing each-way as she is still a maiden after all.
